At first glance, Danae Wolfe's expertise might seem like macro photography, but the true power of her work lies in her storytelling ability. Through photographic storytelling, Danae has captured the attention of global audiences and shed light on a topic of growing concern - the decline of insects. Through charming tales of maternal care and close-up portraits of bugs, she is helping people understand the importance of rethinking the American home landscape to support these fascinating animals. In this session, we'll explore the macro photography techniques Danae uses to capture bug and botanical portraits in the garden. We'll pay particular attention to reverse lens macro photography, a technique that entails reverse mounting a wide-angle prime lens on your camera to achieve greater than 1:1 magnification.
